Pelin’s wasn’t a client brief — it was my own curiosity turned into a project. What started as a playful idea became a full design concept for a SaaS cooking platform, blending recipe discovery, meal planning, and personal taste tracking. It was me designing for my own curiosity — building a tool for people who cook the way I do — messy, curious, always halfway between tradition and experiment.
Figma was the kitchen counter, where every feature was tested against the rhythm of cooking itself. Illustrator plated the brand identity — clean but personal, never sterile. I tested the flows by cooking with them — actually trying to follow recipes through my own designs. The goal wasn’t perfection — it was a tool that understood real cooking is a beautiful mess.
Even though the app never launched, Pelin’s gave me something more valuable — a reminder that personal projects are where your real voice gets loudest. It taught me that when you design for yourself, you find the questions you really care about. That’s a lesson I take into every project since.
